War takes its toll on Congo park gorillas
In Virunga National Park near Congo and Rwanda, ten rare mountain gorillas were killed amid war. Park closure and funding loss hurt conservation. 350 of the world's 610 mountain gorillas live there, with ongoing risks from poachers and armed groups. Tourists resumed visits Sept. 10 at $120 each, amid concern from conservationists.
