Traffic congestion worsens nationwide in study findings
The Texas Transportation Institute report analyzing 75 urban areas shows drivers lose over two days yearly to traffic in 2001, with Los Angeles leading at 90 hours. The study credits signal coordination and ramp metering for some relief and calls for more roads and bus or carpool lanes to reduce delays.

Bless America signs altered over religion concerns in Nevada
In Sparks Nevada City Attorney Chet Adams ordered removal of God from patriotic City Hall signs after September 11 fears of religious endorsement. An employee snipped the word, leaving phrases like Bless America. Adams cited lawsuits while others mourn the loss of expression. Detective Morris said police hope public alerts deter theft of art. The Lassen Galerie notes two Disney Mickey paintings stolen are valued near 800000.
