Viets Lift Siege of Fire Base Tran Hung Dao
A 1,200 man South Vietnamese relief column broke a five day siege at Fire Base Tran Hung Dao near the Cambodian frontier. It moved in from Highway 22, joined defenders, and helped sweep the area 70 miles northwest of Saigon. Two U.S. helicopters were shot down west of the base Thursday.

Leaky mine ends Lyons bid for atomic waste burial
Kansas Geological Survey director Dr William W Hambleton called the Carey Salt Co Lyons mine "too leaky" for nuclear waste and the AEC reportedly abandoning the site. Slaying Still A Mystery in Ottawa Woman Killed
The 85 year old Maude N Richardson was stabbed in her Ottawa home and the Saturday slaying remains unsolved a week later.
