William Lester Hackler of route 2 died suddenly at his farm while feed prep. Born June 6 1898 at Parsons he retired after a 1947 heart attack from his career as a commercial artist in Kansas City Missouri. Survived by wife Nell M Smith Hackler son Eugene grandchild a step sister and two brothers. Funeral plans set in Parsons and Kansas City. J H Rodgers died November 25 and services were at Farris Funeral Home Garnett with burial in Garnett cemetery. Survivors include two sisters two brothers two grandchildren a great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Wife and two daughters preceded him in death.

Dr. Ralph P. Clutz, 78, a physician in Bendena for over 50 years, died at an Atchison hospital. He was son of Rev. Jacob A. Clutz, first president of Midland College in Fremont, Nebraska. Survived by widow, two sisters Ruth Eckert of Gettysburg and Julia Peters of Canton, a brother Claude P. Clutz of Doniphan County. Funeral services set for Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church.
A head-on collision four miles north of Norton Kansas early last night killed two men. Earl Huser 26 a farmer near Norton and Joe Calvert 46 a mechanic who recently moved from Bayard Nebraska died. Gilbert Courtain of Almena escaped with minor injuries riding with Calvert.
