Salvation Army seeks volunteers and support for holiday aid
Community groups are asked to use and share Christmas cards to identify families in need. The Salvation Army notes year round work with 11 volunteers who write service vouchers in Ottawa and nearby towns. It spends about 1200 dollars monthly on clothing groceries utilities rent prescriptions and other essentials. Volunteers are sought to bell ring at local stores from 1 to 7 p.m. weekdays. Funds come from three trusts plus United Way support.
