Franklin County eyes 34 miles of paved roads plan
Franklin County Commissioners propose a $6 million road paving project over two years pending state approval of a low interest loan. The CHIP funds would cover annual payments, widening and adding shoulders on 34 miles of gravel roads to connect Centropolis Williamsburg and Lane, with speed limits possibly increasing and some curves straightened. Construction will close busy routes temporarily, but no new taxes would be raised.
