Toys for Kids ride draws crowds in wet weather
About 50 bikers joined Franklin County Independent Bikers for the seventh Toys for Kids Ride last Saturday amid rain. A large audience attended the chili feed and appreciation party in Pomona where cash and toy donations were accepted for admission. Donation totals will be calculated after all toys reach ECKAN for distribution. Last year over $6,000 in toys were collected.

Love Lights a Tree program returns to RMH home
Local efforts wrap a Christmas tree drive with proceeds benefiting Franklin County cancer research and patient support. Last year Wal-Mart donated an artificial tree for annual remembrance. In the 1993-94 year, Franklin Countians gave over 9,500 to cancer programs, aiding 85 patients and families, educating 3,698 adults on prevention, and 4,794 youths on tobacco risks.
