Sixteen Ottawa churches join in a 7:30 p.m. combined service at Westminster United Presbyterian on 13th and Maple. The union sermon will be by Baldwin State College’s Carroll McLaughlin Baker University, with ministers Rev. Robert Carver Rev. Jim Anderson Rev. Charles Dumond and Rev. O. R. Booker participating. Offering supports the Christian Rural Overseas Program. Other churches plan their own services or celebrate during regular worship on Thanksgiving Day.

Signs Found In Field Near Ottawa Recovered
A police call led to recovering 25 signs dumped in wheat fields about three and a half miles east of Ottawa on Seventh Street. Lawrence Jacob reported picking up recently dumped signs. Eleven Franklin County signs, three city signs, and others from state highway Camp Chippewa and Marais Des Cygnes River were found. Sheriff Joe Ferns said Franklin County recovered about $70. total value of the signs exceeded $150.
