County wins appeal in greyhound case overturning zoning ruling
The Kansas Court of Appeals ruled that raising greyhounds for racing or sale is not an agricultural land use. Dennis and Patricia Weber sought a zoning change and special use permit to operate a kennel at 4691 Oregon Road. The decision allows noncommercial dog raising but bars racing, sale, or boarding dogs not owned by them. The ruling cites livestock definitions and Kansas law, with options to appeal to the Kansas Supreme Court.
