Earl Shann, 25, Chicago, struck the rear of L. C. Bates, 35, Princeton, in a noon collision at Seventh and Main. Bates had stopped for a red light. Jackie Welborn, 19, Ottawa, was cited for reckless driving and forfeited a $25 bond. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Miller of Kansas City visited Ottawa on business. the Merry-Go-Round club meeting was postponed to Nov. 17 due to a death with Miss Mary Carpenter leading the rescheduled event.
The Community Club Pleasant Ridge will meet Friday night at 6 30 for a potluck supper followed by a program a play by the Rantoul high school senior class. John H Lamb and Alfred J Yost attended a funeral directors and embalmers training course in Lawrence at the University of Kansas. About 140 men from four states attended.
J B Muecke attended a meeting in Topeka as part of the Tourist Promotion committee formed by the State Chamber of Commerce to draw tourist trade to the state. Education week talks were given at the Rotary club by Henry Parker and school principals Ralph Loyd Hawthorne and Leroy Hood. Visitors included Rotarians C A Gordon Wilson Counts William Overton and guests Dr Don L McKelvey Prof Wilbur Davenport and Gilbert Davenport.
William Overton of Kansas City Kansas, president of Anchor Savings and Loan, spoke today on banking to a banking class led by Dr. William Dunbar at Ottawa University.

Births include a son to Mr and Mrs William Crabb of Homewood reported today. Dismissals note Mrs Donald Pearson and baby son from 218 W 10th.
Covington Ky Mrs Kate Dishon Schultz filed for divorce and asked custody of 2000 concrete blocks along with furniture and household effects from her husband Edward The petition failed to state the source or intended use of the blocks and was not clear on other assets.
Mrs Iva Harker Easdale aged 91 longtime Ottawa resident of 415 Willow died last night at 11 55 in Ransom Memorial hospital She fell Oct 24 breaking her hip born April 29 1884 in Pleasant Plains Ohio came to Ottawa 1908 widow of Ellsworth Easdale who died 1932 Survivors include daughter Mrs Cecil Ogg two sons Earle and Donald four grandchildren thirteen great grandchildren two great great grandchildren and three sisters Funeral services Friday at 2 pm Lamb Funeral Home Rev Ernest Worden officiating burial in Gardner Kansas cemetery

The Butler County sheriff's office traced Amzi Riley, 73, an ailing Augusta man, as heir to his deceased wife Rachel Thompson's estate estimated at 9 300 dollars. He lives on social security. A Ponca City woman asked if Riley, her uncle, was living. Acting on off hours, Deputy McCurdy learned Riley's son Orville A. Riley of near Leon Kansas led officers to his Augusta home. The son plans to take his father to Ponca City for a hearing.
Police report a young bandit in Kansas City uses a identical MO across four holdups. He enters taxicabs, asks to be driven to 23rd and College Avenue, then draws a pistol and takes dry money before fleeing south on foot.
