About 100 people gathered at Ottawa Forest Park to view a four fifths scale Vietnam Memorial Wall replica bearing the 58549 names of those who died in the conflict. Vietnam veterans and relatives recalled friends lost, with panels showing clusters of names from single nights and the wall described as a solemn tribute to lives given.

KPERS investment director Rob Woodard said the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System does not invest in mutual funds and that concerns in the scandal centered on AllianceBernstein outside investors. He added KPERS has been assured the issues are addressed and pose no harm to its institutional asset management. No charges have been filed. The Wall Street Journal noted AllianceBernstein suspended a mutual fund manager and hedge fund salesman over alleged conflicts of interest.
Ottawa Police halted a spree stealing nearly 200 pumpkins from homes. Officer Adam Weingartner found the stash near 12th and College streets. 18 year old Matthew Adam Bachelor of 326 E 12th St was arrested on theft charges and released on 575 bond. Police seek accomplices. Residents may reclaim pumpkins at Ottawa Police headquarters.
