Earlier in Hagerstown he faced hecklers, a bottle thrown, and several scuffles as police removed disruptive demonstrators.

Sunday School Lesson A Price Worth Paying

Clarence W. Cranford argues that suffering yields insight and faith. He cites Beethoven, Bunyan, Job, Isaiah, Paul, Peter, and New Testament verses to show how persecution and pain refine character, test conviction, and inspire hope. Christians should endure righteously, oppose violence, and work to end causes of suffering such as bigotry, war, poverty, and disease.
