Ottawa's Spigle Leads Ottawa High At State Meet
Ottawa High School earns two more state medals at the Kansas State Track and Field Championships. Kasey Spigle places second in the 4A 800 meters with 1:57.58, trailing only Cale Carson of El Dorado. Teammates Travis Lutz, Tristan Saavedra, and Bradon Carlson run the 4x400 relay to finish as runners-up in 3:24.99, three seconds behind Ark City.

West Franklin Falcon relay teams medal at Kansas state meet
West Franklin high school performers earned five individual medals and two relays at the Kansas State Track and Field Championships in Wichita. The girls set two school records in relays, with Montgomery, Hutchison, Prouty, and Leach posting 4:13.48 in prelims and 4:24.09 in finals for eighth, and the 4x800 clocking 10:11.30 also a school mark with Montgomery, Hutchison, Rossman and Leach. Rossman claimed two medals in the 1600 and 3200, while Bailey and Birzer added metals for the boys.

Central Heights earns fourth in 4x800 at state meet
Four Central Heights Vikings qualified for state and all earned medals in Wichita. Tyler Stevenson Kyle Cardin Alex Cannady and Caleb Meyer teamed to finish fourth in the 3A boys 4x800 meter relay with an 8:19.70. Meyer also ran the 3200 meter in 10:34.37, finishing ninth. Stevenson placed 15th in the 1600 meter.

McDaniel Leads Wellsville At State Track Domination
Paige McDaniel swept the 800 and 1600 at the Kansas State meet in Wichita, adding to last year’s 400 title. Her performances powered Wellsville High School to fifth in 3A as seven of nine female qualifiers earned medals including three relays. Grace Newhouse earned two bronze throws to 4 state medals while WHS boys also earned a medal and multiple relay bids.
