All-Girl Final Wins 60th National Spelling Bee
Stephanie Petit, 13, of Bethel Park Pennsylvania, won the 60th National Spelling Bee over runner-up Rachel Nussbaum of Ithaca New York. Ben Wray of Topeka finished 37th among 185 contestants as girls dominated the field, with Petit spelling dyscalculia and staphylococci to clinch the title.
