Girl dies in post-prom hot tub accident at LAKEWOOD club
Tanya Nickens, 16, died after becoming stuck to the bottom grate of a 100 degree whirlpool during an alcohol-free post prom party at the Atlantic Club. Witnesses said swimmers could not pull her free as jets were on. Lifeguards coordinated emergency help, but she died at Jersey Shore Medical Center. Her father criticized lack of an emergency shutoff near the tub.
