Bakker Claims Falwell Betrayed Him Over PTL Transfer
Jim Bakker told ABC Nightline he made a terrible mistake turning PTL over to Jerry Falwell in March. He accused Falwell of staging the move to fend off a Swaggart takeover while promising he could return to PTL any time. Bakker cited vulnerability after a 1980 sex scandal and a recent drug treatment as factors in his decision.
