Star Wars test remains a fizzle in New Mexico
At White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico the Army scrubbed Tuesday’s THAAD test flight due to a problem with the Hera target missile. Hera, a modified Minuteman 2, had been launched north of the range at 5 14 a.m. The Pentagon cited a $15 million penalty to Lockheed Martin for a missed hit in a March 29 test. Critics question reliability while defenders say tests provide learning, not a final judgment.
