Ottawa shoppers return from vacation and stamp sale
Shoppers from Ottawa and nearby towns returned to work after a week of Nenworth vacation. An armed services commemorative three cent stamp went on sale at the Ottawa post office. A Bermuda trip was taken by Mrs. W E Pickering who plans to stay with her granddaughter’s family. Ottawa residents also noted a business day and a Pentecostal services event at the Ottawa Assembly of God church led by Paul Glover of Tulsa. Roger Cochrane, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry E. Cochrane, graduated from a dental specialist program at Gunter AFB and will be stationed at Luke AFB after a ten day trip to observe relatives and sites.

Deaths Former Ottawa Resident Jake Phillips Dies in Omaha
Mrs. Frank Ledom of 112 N Cedar learns of the death last night of Jake Phillips, formerly of Ottawa and long a local blacksmith. He died in his sleep after illness, leaving a wife who died a year ago and seven daughters with four sons. Mrs. Ledom departs for Omaha today with her sister-in-law, funeral plans incomplete.
