Lawrence sculptor to haul 4000-pound D-Day sculpture to Virginia

Lawrence artist Jim Brothers plans a two day trek in May carrying a 4000 pound bronze piece titled Scaling the Wall to the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford Virginia. The 8 by 19 foot sculpture depicts four Army Rangers scaling Pointe du Hoc during the 1944 invasion. Brothers says the heroes faced a deadly mission and hopes the memorial dedication on June 6, 57th anniversary, honors their sacrifice.
