Medical care costs studied as inflation worry grows
Washington AP The Council on Wage and Price Stability will study rising medical care costs as a remaining inflation sore spot. Albert Rees notes 14.5 percent rise in 12 months and 2.7 percent in three months for medical services, with physician and hospital charges up significantly. He cites third party payments reducing patient cost sensitivity and says a new external study is planned, not wage and price controls.
