Engine failure cause of charter plane crash in Pennsylvania
Investigators focus on why both engines of a Jetstream 31 charter plane failed simultaneously on a Sunday approach to Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport. All 19 aboard died as teams search a misty Pocono Mountains crash site. Safety officials review air traffic transcripts for clues on engine troubles and last refueling location.

Supreme Court blocks air bag lawsuits nationwide
The Supreme Court ruled 5 to 4 that federal air bag regulations pre empt state product liability suits for cars built before mandatory air bags. The decision ends Alexis Geier's 1995 suit against American Honda over a 1992 crash in a 1987 Honda Accord and clarifies that federal standards shield manufacturers from such claims.
