Courthouse Carvings Captivate Local Historian and Student
Ed Haley and Roger Nordeen uncovered a trove of exterior limestone designs on the 82 year old Franklin County Courthouse. The discovery includes fruit symbols, a gargoyle, a girl’s head, and other motifs by architect George Washburn. Haley admits he had walked those steps for 56 years without noticing.
