That is if you don't stop to think the money has to come from somewhere. Any wage earner can find out where the money comes from by looking at his pay check by reading off the social security deduct. Of the 3,438 receiving social se curity checks 1,951 are retired work ers and 964 are relatives of retired workers. Soon the new medicare program will give most of the retired workers and many of the rela tives medical coverage. We can't help but wonder what this will mean to local doctors, nurses and the coun ty's hospital. Another statistic we found inter esting was that city circulation of this newspaper is equal to 93 per cent of the total number of home gas connections. Advertisers please take note.

Fifty years ago Franklin County Teachers Council hikers collected specimens for Prof. A R Shannon’s nature study at Forest Park courthouse meeting.
