Yelland and Emily Reed share valedictorian with 4.0 GPAs as 39 seniors graduate. Principal Rick Smith praises the group, noting it is special and programs a long relationship with many students. Yelland urges happiness and steady effort beyond graduation.
Wellsville High School awarded diplomas to 42 seniors during a Sunday ceremony on the school track at 602 Walnut Street. Chase Bouse Ashley Borders and Justine Dougan sprayed opponents with silly string as graduates celebrated with caps tossed in the air and handshakes with faculty and board member Kevin Jones. Daegan Asebedo received his diploma in the event attended by the Wellsville school board.
Ebeck and three peers led Wellsville High School graduates in addressing memories and futures as the Class of 2014 marked commencement. Valedictorians Luke Meyer Hunter Thurp and Ebeck earned perfect 4.0 GPAs, with NHS inductees including Breithaupt Dees Ebeck Hill Kearney Meyer Mosher St Denis Swafford Thomasson Thuro Wilhite.
Central Heights High School held graduation in a packed gym as 32 seniors received diplomas. Principal Tom Horstick praised the small class size, noted $144,000 in scholarships, and acknowledged students entering the armed forces while stressing academics and the class GPA. He reflected on his 22 years at the school and recalled his own family’s involvement. He closed with Eisenhower’s counsel on planning and a call to live with integrity and faith.
