Task force to meet on I 70 1 35 deaths
A three state task force will review about 50 000 potential suspects in a string of killings along interstate highways. Kansas Missouri and Indiana authorities will determine if more slayings are linked to the J 70 and 1 35 killer, including a Wichita bridal shop murder in 1992 and a Arlington Texas death. Designer liquidation underway at Dow firm Designer Products
Designer Products, a Dow company that closed on May 1, is being liquidated. Chief financial officer Harry Singleton said two banks are selling assets, with Mercantile Bank of Kansas City to sell equipment at the plant and The First National Bank of Pawnee to sell inventory on May 31 in Pawnee. The banks financing the building, inventory, equipment, and receivables will conduct the sales. Ottawa attorney Forrest Lowry is pursuing more than 45000 in unpaid property tax payments, with a bankruptcy court hearing next Wednesday on whether the tax agreement is unsecured.
