Charge Reduced in Youth's Death at Raytown High
A 16 year old student charged with second degree murder in a Raytown High School fight had the charge downgraded to voluntary manslaughter after an autopsy found Tim Weiss died of cardiac arrhythmia, not injuries from the fight. Weiss, a sophomore with a history of heart surgery, died two hours after the schoolyard incident. The teen's name is withheld due to age. The fight occurred as classes changed, a teacher separated the students, and Weiss later died at a hospital.
