Royals Drop Protest Over Nolan Ryan No-Hitter

Kansas City Royals decided not to protest Tuesday night’s game after Nolan Ryan pitched a no hitter for the California Angels. Royals manager Jack McKeon questioned whether Ryan’s pivot foot stayed on the rubber but concluded protest action was not warranted. General Manager Cedric Tall said the team conferred with McKeon and chose to take no official action, citing fairness to the no hitter while recognizing a possible rule violation.
