Oriental Style Fox in a Fix at Ottawa Theater
The Ottawa Community Theater Players staged Oriental Style Fox in a Fix a three act children's legend for grade schools. Lois Dean writes in stylized prose with Chinese touches including costumes sets and music. The Property man remains on stage guiding the audience and explains invisibility of a Black costume. The cast includes Sue Lenox Fox Fairy Niang Niang and Lotus along with Wu Sing Mandarin Chu Ho Ling and others. The plot centers on Wu Sing a poor peasant who loves Lotus Blossom as she is pledged to rich merchant Mandarin Chu and the Fox Fairy tries to grant the union but creates a true Fox in a Fix.
