Missouri beef pricing law upheld by federal appeals court
The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Missouri’s 1999 act requiring packers to pay equal prices to different producers and publish those prices is constitutional. The decision reverses a district court ruling that it burdened interstate commerce. The suit was brought by the American Meat Institute and state cattle groups.
