Franklin County 4Hers End Day With Livestock Judging Schools
Saturday 4H youth toured beef sheep and swine judging sites across Franklin County. At A D Hereford Ranch Pomona 50 youths practiced beef judging led by Tim Benton with agent supervision while later judging moved to Wellsville farms for sheep and swine. Gale Shephard filled in for Benton in swine and sheep rounds as youths learned to justify placements and give reasons amid fatigue. A stray tomato horn worm miller and memories of kittens at Chambers Farm concluded a day of hands on learning.
