Murder still unsolved in Ottawan. leads trickle in
Franklin County sheriff's department has no suspect in the March 20 murder of Doris E. Branson at her Shawnee Road home. Capt. Craig Davis says progress includes ongoing tips, pending return of evidence reports from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation labs, and a promising lead that ended without result. The case includes a robbery angle with Branson's purse found near Le Loup, though not deemed the primary motive. Information continues to come in at two to three contacts weekly as authorities pursue new angles.
