The final public hearing on the county comprehensive plan is today at 7. Walk Kansas Celebration is 5 15 p.m. Friday at the Franklin County Office Annex. Top-10 teams will be recognized and door prizes awarded to eight week participants.
The Wellsville High School Dance Team and choir host a spring show at 7 p.m. Saturday in the high school commons at 602 Walnut Street. Tickets cost 3 for adults 2 for students and free for children younger than kindergarten age.

Franklin County Administrator Ron Henrickson set customer service as the top priority at the commission meeting. He will send an introduction letter to all employees outlining expectations and open-door policy ideas while stressing proper email use and public-interest access.
Roger Zimmerman of Paola builds and displays a full sized replica of a 1910 Barnwell Monoplane, based on a radio controlled model, for a 9 am May 21 event at Ottawa Municipal Airport. The project evolved from parts bought after a 90 year old planned a Fokker D1 replica but lacked space. The aircraft, now on a trailer, will be donated to a Wamego air museum.
