From Beirut to Jerusalem review by Friedman praised as insightful
The book traces Jewish Arab ties and Middle East conflicts through Fried man's life from Minneapolis to Israel. It covers Yasir Arafat and the PLO, Lebanon wars, Camp David, UN talks, and the shift from guerrilla warfare to conventional aims. The reviewer notes balanced Israeli and Arab perspectives and a hopeful American role as a bridge builder.
