Judge orders Kansas schools to close next month
A district judge ruled that Kansas public schools must close by mid June while constitutional flaws in school aid are fixed. The ruling pauses all spending under the unconstitutional funding provisions, possibly delaying education but aimed at ending inequitable schooling for vulnerable children. The decision is under appeal to the Kansas Supreme Court.
