C-TEC students unveil open house house project
Nine months of work by Career and Technical Educational Cooperative students culminates in a new house at 1346 Pin Oak Circle with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Ottawa High School started the project 31 years ago, now run by C-TEC. The building trades class did much of the work with some hired help while Mark Law's industrial technology class made the cabinets. Realtors will conduct a walk-through Friday morning and determine a market price, with half the commission funding scholarships for six graduates. Director Karen Cain plans to retire June 9 after eight years leading C-TEC.

Teens plead no contest to Kansas warehouse arson
Two youths, William J. Knapp and William R. Kunard, ages 15 and 16, pleaded no contest to the arson charge for a April 27 fire at Dodson Aviation Inc. They will be sentenced under extended juvenile jurisdiction with potential adult terms of about 31 to 34 months.
