Tonight's Forecast Shows Showers Then Clearing
The forecast calls for showers ending this evening with cloudy skies. Lows will be in the upper 40s to 50s and north winds 5 to 15 mph. Saturday brings a chance of showers west and early morning showers east, with cooler lows in the 40s and highs in the upper 50s to mid-60s. Sunday and Monday show a slight chance for showers west and dry elsewhere, with lows in the 40s and highs around 75.
Adoption tax credit OK'd in House bill
The House passed a bill 393 to 15 to give middle income families a 5000 tax credit for adopting a child and to ban race matching. Sponsor Rep. Susan Molinari said interracial adoptions are needed to reduce foster care. Opponents cited concerns about black children and relatives. About 450000 children are in foster care at any time. up to 600000 over a year, with around 40 percent black. Adoption can cost 15000 or more, especially for foreign children.
