Expect Big Enemy Push This Summer
Saigon, AP: Viet Cong high command calls for a summer offensive in South Vietnam to pressure for a coalition government and U.S. troop withdrawal. The Central Office for South Vietnam issued the plan, aiming to be more aggressive and to incite a general uprising while targeting U.S. and South Vietnamese forces and rear bases. The document notes no fixed start date though earlier reports pointed to May or June. The Paris talks saw the NLF push a ten point peace program.
