NEA Wary Of Government Role In Higher Education
Educators from across the nation gathered at a National Governors' Association Task Force on College Quality hearing to discuss government involvement in higher education. The panel, chaired by Gov. John Ashcroft, examined undergraduates’ learning assessment, funding, and student aid, with testimony on accreditation and tests’ limitations. Northeast Missouri State University and Southeast Missouri State University were cited for assessment efforts like the Value-Added Learning Program.
