Indians Triumph Despite Rain Delay and Thunderbolt Inning
Cleveland Indians beat Kansas City 6 1 as a fourth inning thunderstorm halted play with one out to go. Tom Candiotti earned the win in a complete game while Andre Thornton slugged two homers and drove in five, lifting his average to .191 and marking his 200th and 201st career as an Indian. Royals’ Bud Black allowed six runs in three plus innings, with Jim Sundberg driving in KC’s lone run on a fifth inning double.
