Ottawa spring citywide garage sales May 13 plan
Ottawans are invited to join the citywide garage sales on May 13 as part of spring cleaning. The event runs alongside Franklin County Spring Clean Up with free dumping at the Transfer Station 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, restrictions apply for tires appliances with Freon and hazardous waste.

Storm Damage Topples Tree on Main Street in Ottawa
A 100 year old tree in Lee Lydick’s yard at 1103 S Main St Ottawa collapsed after heavy weekend rainfall. The trunk fell onto the porch area but caused no injuries or street damage. J E Hoyt Enterprises will remove the tree and limbs while the mail still arrives. Nearby residents watched as the event drew curious onlookers along Main Street.
