Kansas to issue sunflower themed license plates in 2000
The state will issue license plates featuring a domestic sunflower rather than the wild native flower. Rev. Richard Taylor of Topeka criticizes the choice, calling it a lie. The design was chosen by a DOR committee and will begin with personalized plates in January 2000, standard plates following in 2001.
