Tisdale Leaves OU for NBA Draft Opportunity

Oklahoma coach Billy Tubbs welcomed Wayman Tisdale's decision to enter the NBA draft, calling the move devastating but not the end for the Sooners. Tisdale, a three-time first-team All-American, averaged 25.6 points and 10.1 rebounds, led OU to major postseason runs and Big Eight titles, and holds 2,661 career points. Tubbs voiced disappointment yet supported his player's pursuit of happiness and pro career. Returnees Darryl Kennedy Tim McCalister and Anthony Bowie are expected to keep OU strong next season.
