Ottawa man Brad Burke, 19, pleads not guilty to aggravated battery in a July 15 stabbing on Osage Drive. A three day jury trial is set to begin November 3 at Franklin County District Court with pre trial conferences on September 28 and October 30. Burke claims self defense while David Connelly, 23, sustained non life threatening injuries.

Franklin County commissioners will not meet on Wednesday as they attend the 2009 Kansas County Commissioners Association Annual Conference in Wichita today through Thursday. The next meeting is a study session set for 8 30 a m Monday at the Franklin County Office Annex at 14th and Main.
