Wind power moves forward in rural Franklin County
Franklin County resident Noreen McVey pushes wind energy at her 15 acre rural Kansas property. County planners debate proposed rules setting 40 acre minimums and 40 foot height limits for residential generators, with 20 to 40 acre tracts needing special permits and smaller lots banned. McVey says turbines can fit on smaller plots and cost around 14000 dollars when including limestone-based construction, illustrating a broader rise in interest as energy prices climb.
