Light-rail suit against KC dismissed prompt for appeal
Kansas City light-rail advocate Clay Chastain says he will appeal after Jackson County Judge John O Malley dismissed a lawsuit against Mayor Mark Funkhauser and city officials over repealing his starter rail plan. The measure approved by voters in 2006 envisioned a line from the zoo through downtown to near KCI. The City Council later deemed the plan unworkable and redirected funds to buses, with a new plan promised this year. Chastain said he expected the ruling and will file a notice of appeal next week.
