Kansans Begin Personal Appraiser Visits Across Counties
Harris News Service reports the 1985 Legislature's statewide computer aided reappraisal is underway. Appraisers visit 28 counties and data collection should reach 40 more by June 15, with 74 of 81 counties under contract. The $65 million project shifts to actual appraisal with counties sharing costs and use value measures to be implemented after completion. The Department of Revenue and governors set budgets, aided by lottery proceeds, while the PVD expands staff to support the increased workload.
