Computer helps to spot missed tumors in breasts
New computer aided tool acts as a backup to radiologists in reading mammograms. It could identify about half of cancers radiologists miss, described as a second opinion by Dr Maryellen L Giger. Tested on over 1,000 X rays since November, it will be trialed at the University of Chicago and licensed to a private firm for a commercial version.
