Lane votes on sewer bond amid city council and school race
Lane faces a key election on authorizing up to 175000 dollars in bonds to fund part of a sewer project after a EPA grant of 351700 dollars and a low bid of 359688.90. Mayor Homer White says the bond funds will be backed by a 40 year loan from Farmers Home Administration at about 5.5 percent while voters also weigh council and school board races. If rejected, Lane risks losing EPA funding and future sewer plans as the town struggles to attract growth and jobs.
