A California naval officer was promoted upon completing boat training and assigned to an Aviation School in Norman Oklahoma. He will depart Ottawa for his next duty station around April 10. Eugene Field P T A officers elected Tuesday afternoon were Mrs. Max Alderman president Mrs. Frank Holden vice president and Mrs. James Ogg treasurer. Mrs. Bob Hill conducted business and Mrs. Carl Marshall gave devotions. Keith Holden and Craig Davis were flag bearer and salute leader. The Brownie troops No 2 10 and 12 presented the program.

Whitaker Matriarch Dies at 92 in Bucyrus
D C Whitaker of 336 Willow reported his mother Mrs R O Whitaker of Bucyrus died this morning in Gardner hospital. She had lived in Whitaker home about 18 months and was 92. An invalid after a hip fracture, she spent most of her life in Bucyrus. Survived by six children, 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
