Remap Bill Passes House With Optimism For Ballot
In Topeka Kansas the House backed a constitutional amendment to reform property classification. Gov Carlin and Senate leaders expect enough votes to reach a two thirds majority and place the measure on the November 1986 ballot. The companion reappraisal bill also advanced as lawmakers aim to end unequal county property taxation across 105 counties. The Senate will decide on concurrence Monday after House changes set 1989 as the completion date for reappraisal.
